Engelberg Rottweilers & Shiba Inus Reg.'d  Kennel breeders of Rottweilers (mainly German lines) and Shiba Inu. Member of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) and the local Nanaimo Kennel Club. We are located in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, about 1 hour and 20 minutes north of Victoria.
We are not heavily involved with conformation or working, but if we see some possible qualities in one of our pups we help them to reach that potential. It is our # 1 goal to produce health and temperament in our Shiba Inus and Rottweilers which are suitable to be placed as pets, show or working dogs and we try to maintain the breed standard as by the CKC, FCI, ADRK and try to stay as close to German lines as possible

Our Rottweilers are tested for hips ((Penn Hip and OFA) , elbows, heart, thyroid, (OFA) and eyes in order to eliminate any hereditary concerns in our puppies. According to statistics, close to 50 % of all Rottweilers in North America are diagnosed with Dysplasia of the Elbows and we hope that more breeders will participate in bringing that percentage down as it was done with the Dysplasia of  the hips. now at about 25 %.
The pedigree of our Rottweilers include some of the best German bloodlines in history, as Schwaiger Wappen, Tim von Mummler and some AKC registered Rottweilers like Jenecks Wotan.
All our Rottweiler & Shiba Inu puppies are CKC registered and come with their first veterinarian health check.

As breeders we strive to raise our puppies and adults on quality dog food which is high in nutrition, therefore we cook our own dog food which is mixed with a quality  dry kibble and occasionally some raw diet
